Our neighborhood clothing swap is next weekend, and I want to arrive with a better plan than last time. The last swap left me with attractive individual items that were surprisingly difficult to combine with my existing clothes. My first step is photographing the jeans, jackets and skirts I actually wear so I have something concrete to compare. I am considering color choices through color analysis to narrow my choices without rejecting a useful item just because its shade falls outside a suggested palette. Is it more useful to look for familiar colors or identify a missing layer that could bring existing outfits together? I can check fit there, but the room has artificial lighting and I do not want color alone to decide everything. Which practical question do you ask before choosing a secondhand item that looks appealing but has no obvious outfit yet?
